SHARNI is enjoying a well-earned break today... probably catching some rays while the rest of us slave over a hot computer. Anyway, it's me, Kim Quinlan, filling in an again. Enjoy the sunshine while in lasts, Sharni.
While for many in Ballarat, Tuesday means one thing - cheapskate night at the Regent Cinema - Tuesday at the Quinlan household means rushing home from work to get tea ready (by the way it's tacos tonight), so that daughter #1 can make it her netball without playing on a full stomach. Then it's down to cleaning up and getting the recliner ready for the ever-popular X-Factor at 7.30pm on Ch 9.
With home visits out of the way, the mentors and their celebrity judges of Usher, Ke$ha, Alicia Keys and the (scream-like-teen) UK X-Factor sensation of One Direction, now have to halve the remaining contestants before they return to Australia for the live elimination rounds.
For me, the stand-out favourites are Vendulka Witchta, who has a voice belying her 14 years, Bella Hunter (even if it's just on her long legs and her celebrity looks) and the made-to-order boy band. Good luck to all the remaining contestants though.
But, if you are taking up the chance to watch one of the latest movies to be screened at the Regent, head along to cheapskate night, there's some really good films out at the moment.
Enjoy your Tuesday night. And, yay, tomorrow's Hump Day.
Feature event
