School finished at 2.30pm on Friday as the last day of term two for schools across Victoria.
Damascus College principal Matthew Byrne said CDC Bus contacted the school last Wednesday to convey its inability to change the service.
“CDCBus, formerly Davis Bus Lines, will no longer honour the end of term arrangements,” Mr Byrne said.
“Traditional end of school times for the last day of term end at 2.30pm, but they would still run their services at 3.30pm.”
Mr Byrne said a majority of parents were forced to pick their children up from school at 2.30pm, while the 3.30pm bus services were relatively unused.
“There were 15 buses before, with very few kids using them,” he said.
“About 10 per cent of our normal cohort have waited (until 3.30pm).
“The communication has been appalling.”
Mr Byrne has contacted Ballarat East MP Geoff Howard, Minister for Public Transport Jacinta Allan and Public Transport Victoria to resolve the problem.
