Should Rush win, it narrow the gap to three games between their standing and South East Australian Basketball League east conference rival Brisbane, which they host Saturday night.
Rush has asked the league’s referee adviser to take a look at vision from last week’s controversial finish but know they cannot count on any change to the result.
Players are keen to measure improvement. Rush lost to the Spartans by 25 points in round two but have since sharpened their game and competitiveness.
While Rush co-captains Abbey Wehrung and Kristy Rinaldi were missing from the initial clash, Rush expects the Spartans to guarded them heavily. This means more youngsters, including the promoted Eliza Roughead, get opportunity against the older, vastly more experienced Spartans.
