About 24 Ballarat fire brigade volunteers spent the night honing their rescue skills at the Rod Ward Car Cleaning wrecking yard in Canadian.
Ballarat fire brigade captain Mark Cartledge said road rescue training was held once a month.
“It was an opportunity for new members who have not done a lot of rescue training to get involved,” he said.
A CFA volunteer donated the car for crews to use during the exercise.
“The scenario was a single car collision where a driver and a passenger were trapped,” he said.
Mr Cartledge said it was common for people to donate cars to the brigade for training.
