Rovers rev up for a big birthday

THIS month marks 60 years for a Ballarat motorcycle club.

The Ballarat Rovers Motorcycle Club has come a long way since its first meeting at the Ballarat Youth Centre in 1952, which cost members sixpence to attend.

Over the years, the club has gathered more members and been forced to move around to bigger rooms and finally settled out at the Ballarat Airport where they are today.

On September 22, the Ballarat Rovers is celebrating its birthday with a bike show and dinner dance at the Bray Raceway Trotting Complex.

The celebrations will kick on into the Sunday, with a barbecue lunch at the Rovers Club Rooms at the Ballarat Airport.

Tickets can be bought from Sue Freeman on 0438 078 833.
