Cafe Cornucopia owner Chris Gusman said someone had broken into the Mair Street business between 7.30pm Wednesday and 6am Thursday.
“They smashed the front window, walked in and stole money from the till,” he said. “They stole between $500 and $600.”
Mr Gusman is worried thieves would target his venue Bar WAT next door.
A 30-year-old Ballarat North man has been assisting police with their enquiries.
