EUREKA Golden City completed a clean sweep in Hockey Ballarat.
EGC took out the senior men’s and women’s premierships at Prince of Wales Park.
EGC Gold outplayed Students of Ballarat Ducks 4-2 in the men’s premiership play-off on Saturday.
In the same match-up, EGC out-played Students 7-0 in the women’s grand final.
Ducks started the faster in the men’s clash to lead 2-0.
EGC defenders Liam Hobbs, Adrian Porter and goalkeeper Nick Hargreaves had to work hard to prevent the Ducks going further ahead.
Player of the match Nathan Gaegan moved up a gear and assumed control of the midfield and in an inspiring 10 minutes helped level the scores by half-time.
Gold went 3-2 up shortly after the break, prompting Ducks to throw everyone into attack.
It was to be EGC which was to get the next goal though, pouncing on a goal mouth scramble.
The women’s grand final was one-sided. Ducks succumbed to an early barrage of goals, with EGC Blue controlling the match through Sally Gregory, Cristin Ruyg, Elise Torrington and Peta Goede in the midfield.
Clare McKenzie and player of the match Jackie Lewis-Gray combined well to set up a string of goals.
