Springbank holds sway in the battle of the arch-rivals over the years with 29 wins.
They originally played for the Moorabool Shield.
This was replaced by the Jimmy Toohey Memorial Trophy, named in honor of the Gordon stalwart who died tragically in 2000.
David Brehaut spoke to Frank Duggan, a Springbank life member and past president, and long-time friend of Jimmy Toohey, about the football rivalry between the neighbouring communities, and his memories of Toohey.
