Eight groups received funds from club, collected over the past year through the weekly Sunday market, an art show, charity barbeques and car raffle.
Joint club president Ross Furness said helping local organisations was at the core of Rotary’s values.
“We’re a service club; we’re in there to provide financial and other support to community organisations.”
The largest recipient was Ballarat Child and Family Services, which received $5000.
Other organisations which received a donation included the Ballarat Soup Bus, Kardin Disability and the White Ribbon Foundation.
Riding for the Disabled also received $2500 to help buy a defibrillator.
Riding for the Disabled volunteer Coralie Kennedy said the defibrillator was a necessity for the organisation.
