The blackspots on the V/Line service to Melbourne are a wonderful service to passengers who love silence.
They provide us with respite from loud personal conversations; it would be hell on wheels if mobile phones worked for the whole journey.
We already have to put up with the glare from laptop and phone screens and the noise emanating from headphones of passengers determined to destroy their hearing.
Instead of embracing connectivity V/Line should encourage passengers to switch off technology, enjoy the trip and marvel at the ever-changing view from the carriage window.
