The Strikers return after a week’s freshen up within three points of top team University of Melbourne and well placed to pick up another win.
They hit the road to tackle Yarra Jets away. Last time they met, Ballarat took maximum points 3-0.
Seven rounds remain for the season and there is every possibility top position could go right down to the last game, when the Strikers meet Melbourne Uni.
If this is to happen Ballarat needs to keep winning – starting with Yarra, which has lost just the once at home this year and boasts the second tightest defence in the league.
To counter these factors, Strikers are buoyed by the return of Lulu Al-Huneidi, who has been in Singapore with university commitments.
Al-Huneidi has scored more goals than Yarra Jets have conceded this season.
The Strikers will be hoping that she is immediately back on the goal scoring list as they attempt to use superior pace to open up the Jets.
Claire Demuth retains her spot in the squad and Vanessa Yung joins the senior squad, having played an impressive role off the bench throughout the season.
