The McDonald’s Reds defeated Moreland City 1-0, with a penalty by Shaun Romein on 20 minutes separating the teams.
“They threw everything at us,” Robinson said.
“It’s wasn’t pretty. It was tough. We absorbed their onslaught and executed the plan. We got the job done,” he said.
Robinson said his defence of Josh Romein, Daniel Firth, Daniel Tinker and Charlie King had been rock solid in a game, which despite the scoreline, had been full of chances for each attack.
“We created many chances. Their keeper was the player of the match in the first half.” Robinson said.
Robinson was also impressed with the form of Liam Harding in the midfield. He said Harding was just beginning to hit his straps after surgery had interrupted his pre-season.
The win gives Ballarat three wins and a draw in its past four games and some real momentum going into the run home.
