The GJ Gardner Tigers backed up their brilliant win over rivals Gordon the week before with a 37-point success at Newlyn.
Like his side, Paul McMahon continued a hot streak with five goals to take his season total to 56 majors, a lead of seven in the league goal-kicking standings.
Springbank coach Terry Simpson said the difficult conditions contributed to his team’s wasteful kicking in attack – 8.14 (62) – and rated half forward Matt Lakey, recruit Trevor Hilton and McMahon as the standouts.
For the Cats, 2010 Geoff Taylor Medal winner Chris Eastwell turned back the clock to be one of the team’s best, alongside coach Kal Young, who booted two goals in his return to the side.
Next weekend, Springbank hosts Skipton, while Newlyn travels to Gordon.
