Scott featured well in the Lions’ comfortable win against Geelong Football League rival St Albans last week and has seized a chance for a Roosters’ recall on Saturday and his seventh Victorian Football League game this season.
North Ballarat Roosters coach Gerard FitzGerald said the support from Leopold, like most Ballarat clubs, took pride in Scott’s playing progression – and, importantly, ensuring he was ready to step up when needed.
“Local coaches are playing a role like a development coach for our players, providing good feedback and the players really notice it,” FitzGerald said. “(Leopold) feel they are part of Sam’s pathway.”
Jono Lanyson (East Point) and Lucas Anderson (Lake Wendouree) are pushing for Roosters promotions on good form in the Ballarat Football League. Anderson, a tall forward, booted eight goals last week.
Meanwhile, decorated Roosters midfielder Nick Peters is set for his first game back from an ankle injury. Peters is named to play with Geelong District club Bannockburn on Saturday.
