Police say the statue was taken from the Dr Seuss Gallery on July 24.
The $10,000 bronze just disappeared from the Block Arcade store.
The women, aged 43 and 65, have both been charged with theft.
But the statue remains missing, leaving its poor owners bereft.
UPDATE: Police say the statue has now been found.
