He edged out Ballarat Gold clubmate Thomas Halliday for the J.W. Clegg Shield, which each year goes to the Midlands District's most outstanding swimmer 12 years and over.

Thomas Halliday was also prominent at the MDASA awards presentation night.
He received the 400m freestyle (Craig Millgate Trophy), best 18/over at MDASA championships (Bill McKenzie Trophy), MDASA champion male 18/over, best performance in Victorian Country long course championships and country short course male 16/over.
Catherine Zhao from Ballarat Swimming Club received Laurie Dixon Award as the region's most outstanding 11/under competitior.
She also took home the best Vic Country short course male 11/under and MDASA champion in the female 10-11 year category.
