A man who allegedly stalked and then indecently assaulted a teenage girl in Melbourne's CBD has been charged.

The 20-year-old man allegedly followed a group of teenage girls from a fast-food outlet on Swanston Street about 3.25pm last Tuesday.
He shadowed the girls along Swanston Street to the intersection of Flinders Street, where he allegedly indecently assaulted one of the girls as they waited for the pedestrian lights to change.
He allegedly continued to follow the teens into Flinders Street Station, before they alerted a staff member.
The man, who lives in Brunswick, was arrested by Protective Service Officers on Thursday at Middle Brighton train station.
He was charged with one count of sexual assault by detectives from the Melbourne Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team.
He is due to appear in the Melbourne Magistrates Court on September 30.
