Students at the school participate in the World’s Greatest Shave each year, but Year 12 vice captain Nicholas Butterworth said this year is one of the biggest.
“It’s a big occasion,” he said.
“Hairhouse Warehouse are donating all the products for us and we also have people from the Leukaemia Foundation and Ballarat Cancer Centre coming to do a talk.
“We want to raise as much as possible, but our goal is $2000. Anyone in the public who want to donate can pop into the school.”
Mr Butterworth said there was a personal reason behind his decision to take part.
“My step-mum was diagnosed with lymphoma last year, for now it is gone, but it hasn’t completely cleared,” he said.
“I wanted to shave my head as part of supporting her and raise as much money as I can.”
