An elderly woman with dementia has been located after spending the night missing from a Melbourne aged-care facility.

A gardener found Maureen Reidy, 81, at a school on South Road in Brighton, several kilometres away from where she vanished at a Hampton care facility, a police spokeswoman said.
She was cold but appeared to be in good health when she was found around 11am on Sunday, the spokeswoman said.
Ms Reidy had gone missing from the Bluff Road facility around 5pm on Saturday.
Police had urged the public for help in finding Ms Reidy due to her age, the light clothing she was wearing and because she required medication for her dementia.
She has been taken to The Alfred hospital for observation.
Meanwhile, the search for a missing bike rider in Mildura has also ended successfully.
He was found just after 11am on Sunday, police said.
