It took just 45 seconds for the Vikings to find the back of the net, with Carl Frankson converting a well-worked corner penalty set piece.
It was not long before the lead was doubled when Alex Antonelli used his head to convert.
Leading 2-0 after 10 minutes, coach Michael Busija said he had a feeling at that point that his side was well on the way to victory.
“I’d seen other results where Laverton Park struggle a bit if you get on top early, so we knew if we got a few away early it would make it hard for them,” Busija said.
Two further goals to Jye Cartledge and Isaac Ellis on 23 and 31 minutes respectively had the result virtually secure at half time, meaning Busija had to find other forms of motivation to keep his side ticking along.
“We spoke about goal difference at half time and how important that can be, you can’t bring that up pre-game because it send out the wrong message,” he said.
“Keeping a clean sheet was also really important and that was something we mentioned as well.”
The first half hour of the second half was a more even contest, with neither side able to break the deadlock.
But when it rains it pours and Sebastopol converted three goals after the 75-minute mark (including two more to Frankson to complete his hat-trick) to stretch the scoreline out to 7-0.
The Vikings sit in fifth spot on the table with four rounds remaining but are just two points off table toppers Bell Park.
They will host Bell Park at Morshead Park next week, in what looms as their most important match of the season to date.
