Rattley was yellow-carded and had his number taken for engaging in rough conduct during the Bulldogs’ 179-point loss to Learmonth on Saturday.
The incident occurred with Lakies’ assistant coach Paul Phillips.
Rattley was leading the Central Highlands Football League player of the year award when voting went in camera with three rounds of the home and away season to play.
The Bulldogs’ 2015 recruit was five votes in front of Newlyn’s Dan Wehrung heading into Saturday’s round 15 fixtures.
Bulldogs coach Stephen Frys told The Courier he had advised Rattley not to accept a set one-week penalty and challenge the report at the AFL Goldfields Independent Tribunal this week.
Frys said Rattley would be an important player for the team’s clash with Daylesford next weekend.
By not accepting the one-week ban, Rattley could miss the remainder of the season if found guilty of the charge.
