Over a million people have been displaced since the flooding hit in June and the high water levels continue towards the south west coast.
Bullarto man Steve Barton will fly to Myanmar on Wednesday night to coordinate shelter for 200,000 people as part of the International Red Cross relief effort.
He said it was a daunting task but one he had tackled before.
“Even though it seems impossible gradually things work out,” he said.
“This is the 14th disaster zone I’ll have been to, and I’ve been to Myanmar twice before, so it’s not as daunting as it usually is.”
Mr Barton will oversee efforts from several aid agencies.
He most recently worked in Vanuatu following Cyclone Pam.
Over 100 people are reported dead in the disaster.
The Irrawaddy Delta is hardest hit, home to many of the dead and still fighting flooding.
