This is the deadline for applications in the search to replace Gerard FitzGerald, who has not had his contract extended beyond the end of this VFL season.
North Ballarat chief executive Mark Patterson said the Roosters hoped to have a new coach appointed by mid-September.
He said with the closing of applications the selection panel, which featured North Ballarat legend and three-time AFL premiership coach Mick Malthouse, would begin assessing candidates.
The panel will compile a short list for the Roosters’ board, which will then carry out final interviews before making a decision.
Outside the formal application process, the panel has been carrying out its own search to see who might be available for the job. This has included talks with the AFL Coaches Association.
Patterson said the club was pleased with interest shown in the role, which included enquiries from interstate.
