BALLARAT-based MP Jaala Pulford had a rude awakening at her Melbourne accommodation yesterday, when a 5am fire alarm caused an evacuation.
The pyjama-clad Member for Western Victoria was one of around 50 other guests who waited in Melbourne’s Chinatown while fire crews cleared the building.
“Loving this. 5:22 am and outside an evacuated building in the city. Firefighters look relaxed. Toast related? Wish I had some toast,” she tweeted to her 1300 followers.
“The highlight of being evacuated at this hour is the couple in matching dalmatian spot PJs.”
Speaking from Victorian Parliament, Ms Pulford later said she was upbeat and energetic despite the early wake-up.
“It wasn’t a great-way to start a sitting day, but I have two coffees down the hatch and am in good spirits,” she said.
