Rolling Stone reports the song will be the next film to be made as part of Parton's deal with U.S. television network NBC to create movies based on the performer's life and songs.

It will be based on her 1973 song about a woman begging another to not steal away her man.

Parton has also revealed that she is eager for an on-screen reunion with her 9 to 5 co-stars Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin.

Parton said she would love to appear in Netflix series Grace and Frankie alongside Fonda and Tomlin.

But the 69-year-old Parton joked that any reunion would have to be titled The Good, the Bad and the Ugly or Ninety-Five, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

"I told them whenever I get a little block of time, I'd love to come be on the show," she said. "We always talked about a [9 to 5] reunion."

Parton made the comments while spruiking her telemovie Coat of Many Colors at the Television Critics Association summer press tour in Los Angeles.

Coat of Many Colors is based on her 1971 song of the same name and spans a nine-month period in 1955 when Parton was eight years old.

In the lyrics, which Parton described as telling an anti-bullying story, she sings about her mother hand-sewing a coat out of rags while telling a biblical story.

"I've had so many people tell me through the years that this song itself has had a healing effect on them, whether it's about their race, their nationality, whether they were overweight or whether they were cripple, people just identify with it," Parton said.

Parton will not appear in the movie, which features Jennifer Nettles as Parton's mother, and Ricky Schroder as her father.
