Ballarat hosts national Telstra meeting

MORE than 125 Telstra Country Wide managers from around Australia converged on Ballarat yesterday for a two-day national conference.

The purpose of the conference was to review operations and set priorities for the coming year.

Other issues discussed were mobile coverage, the Internet, service performance and improvements, customer service and new product development.

Telstra Country Wide group managing director Doug Campbell said the conference followed its recent expansion to 10 new regional and outer metropolitan areas.

"The conference marks the first time the new and extended team comes together and should prove to be an invaluable induction for new managers," he said.

He said this expansion allowed it to provide businesses and the community a local presence and local solutions.

Telstra Country Wide Area general manager South-West Victoria Chris Doody said the conference would generate thousands of dollars for the local economy in Ballarat.
