McDonalds Ballarat will be donating $10 per goal or point kicked by the Rebels to the Fiona Elsey Cancer Research Institute during Saturday’s clash against Oakleigh Chargers at Eureka Stadium in the final home and away round of the TAC Cup.
It is the second time the Rebels and McDonalds have held the fundraiser this season, following a successful match against Queensland in July.
Rebels talent manager Phil Partington said all money raised during the game will be supporting vital research projects being conducted at the Institute.
“We certainly want to help the local community and it’s good for our boys to be aware of the the Fiona Elsey Cancer Research Institute. We’ve all been touched by cancer in our lives,” he said.
“Our leadership group will be going on a tour of the Institute later in the year and that will be a great experience to see where the money is going.”
