Scope moved its lifestyle options services, including therapy and activities, into the historic old Ballarat East Post Office building this week. The launch showcased Scope Ballarat’s music program and client cooking skills.
Combining the organisation’s lifestyle services aimed to help ready Scope for the National Disability Insurance Scheme roll-out, scheduled for next year. Scope chief executive officer Jennifer Fitzgerald said the central, Main Road location made programs and opportunities more accessible.
“This means we’re right here in the community,” Ms Fitzgerald said. “People with disability have a place to meet and have some chill-out time.”
Scope supports people with physical, intellectual and multiple disabilities across Victoria. Ms Fitzgerald said this city had offered strong program support for more than four decades.
