The rule, which was introduced this year, makes footballers who play more than 10 VFL games for the season ineligible to play BFL finals for their home club.
East Point’s Jordan Staley was unable to play on Sunday despite playing three games for the Roos throughout the season, despite being overlooked by North Ballarat. He would have been eligible in previous years.
Nunn said he would make a formal submission to AFL Victoria to scrap, or at least alter the rule for next year.
“We’ve always been comfortable with our own by-law which means players have to play three BFL games to qualify,” Nunn said.
“We want our best players playing and it should be up to leagues to create their own rules if they are worried about VFL players coming back for finals.
“Jordan Staley should have been allowed to play.”
