The man who scored the winning goal in Australia's 2015 Asian Cup triumph will be playing in the Saudi Arabian pro-league for the next two seasons after signing a two-year deal with the Jeddah club on the last day of the European transfer window.

Troisi completed his medical in Dubai over the weekend to seal his move more than two months after being deemed surplus to requirements at Italian champions Juventus at the end of last season.

Troisi had previously flirted with a move back to the A-League this season before moving to the Middle East where he will play alongside Ghanaian star Sulley Muntari at one of the most popular clubs in the region.

Troisi was owned by Juventus, however never played for the iconic Italian club having spent three years on loan with Serie A team Atalanta, Melbourne Victory and Belgian club Zulte Waregem.

Troisi was not the only notable Australian to make a switch on the European transfer deadline day after Socceroo forward Robbie Kruse joined Bundesliga club Stuttgart on loan from Bayer Leverkusen. Kruse had already made five appearances for Leverkusen this season all off the bench, including in last weekend's 3-0 loss to league champions Bayern Munich.

However, Kruse opted to join fellow Australian international Mitchell Langerak at Stuttgart in hope of more regular first-team football. The 26-year-old forward signed with Leverkusen in 2013 but was limited to 33 appearances in all competitions in a stint heavily interrupted by injuries.
