Held as part of this year’s Clunes Ceramic Award, the two-day workshop demonstration will take place at Clayspace Studio in Daylesford.
Mr Oh will also provide an illustrated talk at the Clunes Warehouse.
Ceramic Award chair Graeme Johnstone said the workshops were a great opportunity for ceramicists to meet and learn from one of the world leaders in the Onggi pottery technique.
“Onggi is a Korean pottery tradition of making storage jars for every day use. Some of these storage jars are quite remarkable,” he said.
“Mr Oh has arranged for a very large quantity of clay to be delivered to Clayspace and we are intrigued to see the works that will be created during these two days.”
The Clunes Ceramic Award is hosted on a biennial basis. A major event on the national ceramics calendar, it offers prizes totalling $13,000.
At this year’s main exhibition, the winning artist’s work will attract a total prize of $10,000, a significant increase from previous years.
An acquisitive prize, the 2015 winning work will also be acquired by the Art Gallery of Ballarat.
“We are grateful to our sponsors Terry Cocks of the Union Bank Arts Centre and Gary Sharp of Lucky Strike Lounge in Clunes for the significant increase in prizes and for their continuing support of this event,” Mr Johnstone said.
The Daylesford workshop will be held on September 15 and 16. Tickets cost $20 for one day and $30 for two days.
The illustrative talk will take place at 7pm on September 17. Tickets cost $25.
