The man was travelling with his 91-year-old wife when he lost control of the luxury car as he drove out of a Fairfield service station on the corner of Station and Separation streets about 8pm on Tuesday.
The Bentley crossed two lanes of traffic, hit a BMW and then ploughed through the front window of a unit.
Fortunately, the residents were not hurt.
The driver and his wife also walked away from the crash without any injuries.
Metropolitan Fire Brigade commander Steve Dorman said it was by sheer luck that there wasn't more serious damage to the ground-floor apartment.
"It was lucky the car did go through the window [because] it caused very little structural damage," he told radio station 3AW.
"The brickwork around the window did show some cracking, but lucky enough for the residents, firefighters were able to prop it up with some shores."
