About 300 students have been working on their own portraits of people they regard as special in their lives and will showcase them at an exhibition next month.
Under the project, students have visited the Art Gallery of Ballarat to observe portraits and learn about art, while volunteer guides have trained eight students to lead guided tours of the exhibition. Student Josh, 15, said he had drawn a picture of his dad because he was a “really good bloke”.
The My Special Archies exhibition will be held at the school’s farm campus between October 20 and 30 from 9.30am to 3pm.
Gandel Philanthropy funded the project.
