What's on? Live music at SMB

TODAY feels like Monday for me as I had the last two days off for my weekend break. Confused? So am I.

Anyway, so it’s Thursday and there's heaps of things happening tonight to sink your teeth into.

Firstly, if your home is filled with crystal, then this event is for you.

Jim O'Leary is one of the most renowned crystal designers in the world and is the only person to ever have a Waterford Crystal collection named in his honour. And lucky us, he is in town tonight at Thomas Jewellers in Sturt Street. You have to let them know if you're planning to go along, so phone 5331 1311. It starts at 6pm.

Or, if a bit of live music is what you're in the mood for, Live on Lydiard 39 is on tonight. Held at the the Courthouse Theatre, SMB campus in Lydiard Street South, the event features Siren Song, Lewis Ingham and Fearless Escape. Live music kicks off at 8pm and entry costs $5.

As for me, I've got the Monday sulks and plan to go home, get in my ugg boots and watch Zoolander with takeaway Thai from Thai Angels on Barkly Street, Footscray. Yum!

Something on stage

Sweet Charity is hitting the stage at the Helen Macpherson Smith Theatre in Camp St tonight. The production is a very funny look at the adventures – or rather misadventures - of a dance hall hostess in 1960s New York, Charity Hope Valentine. Adult tickets cost $30 and it starts at 7.30pm. To book tickets phone 5333 5888 or go to www.ballarat.edu.au/schools/education-and-arts/arts-academy/events/buy-tickets

Something at the cinema

Kath and Kimderella is screening at 7.15pm and 9.10pm. Or treat yourself to Gold Class at 7pm.

The Expendables 2 is screening at 8.45pm. Or head along to a Gold Class session at 9.10pm.

The Watch is screening at 7pm and 9.15pm. Or there is a Gold Class session at 6.25pm.

Something on TV

I love Jamie Oliver and there are back-to-back shows tonight of his 30-minute meals on Ten starting at 7.30. Or tune into WIN at 9.30pm for the AFL Footy Show.
