League administrator Diane Ryan confirmed an independent investigator had been appointed to look into the alleged matter that stems from the elimination final on August 22.
The Tigers won the game by 13 points at Learmonth, where it is alleged Wethling came into the Eagles' change rooms where the injured player was after the match.
It is understood a Tigers' player was handed a one-match suspension for an on-field incident that injured the Gordon junior.
This is the second time Wethling's conduct has been called into question in an official capacity this year, after he was cleared of any wrong doing at a junior tribunal hearing last month.
Meanwhile, Gordon's request to look at an alleged round 16 incident that left senior player Jordan Clampit with facial injuries has come back with a recommendation that it proceed to tribunal.
The case against Creswick veteran Tim Rieniets is expected to be heard next Tuesday night.
Gordon won the match by 17 points, with Clampit named the Eagles’ best player.
Another Central Highlands investigation into Daylesford player David Thompson, who has been alleged to have struck Dunnstown opponent Brett Rogers in a reserves encounter in round 17, has also come back with a recommendation it head to tribunal.
This hearing is set to be decided next week.
