I AM a concerned citizen who is shocked at the mutilation of street trees in Ballarat because of power lines.
There must be a way to prune the trees away from the power lines without disfiguring the trees.
The two metre clearance is too extreme .
There is no reason for this ugliness it is dreadful.
With all the technological information we have, could they not cover the power lines with a substance to stop it from being flammable?
Can the electricity companies or the council get an arborist to trim the street trees as he is aware of the form of the tree and the beauty of the tree.
Ballarat citizens have a right to have our street trees looking at their best.
