UPDATE: A 31-year-old Ballarat man has been charged after an incident on Friday afternoon.
The man has been charged with intentionally causing serious injury, recklessly causing injury and assault with a weapon.
He has been remanded in custody and refused bail until Monday morning when he will front the Ballarat Magistrates Court.
This follows an incident where a 27-year-old female was stabbed when crossing the intersection of Lydiard Street and Sturt Street about 2.40pm Friday.
The woman was transported to Ballarat Base Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A spokesperson for the hospital said she was in a stable condition.
