WEIR’S STATURE GROWS

DARREN Weir has two starters in the listed $80,000 Morphettville Guineas, 1600m, today.

Dean Yendall rides Walk With Attitude and Michelle Payne is aboard Centaurine.

PAYNE JUMPS AT IT

PATRICK Payne is out to continue his run of success over the jumps in Adelaide with Lord Of The Song going.

Lord Of The Song has become a Morphettville specialist, with four wins and a second in his past five starts - all at HQ in SA.

The seven-year-old is out to add to his jumping record of five wins and five seconds in 11 starts in the Leslie Short Hurdle, 3100m.

Steven Pateman again takes the ride.

Payne also has Sea Coral engaged in the event.

GOLD NUGGET

BALLARAT feature event, the  $60,000 Gold Nugget Handicap, 1600m, will be run on a Sunday for the first time next weekend.

Minimum stakemoney for the day is $17,500, with a $30,000 country showcase BM72 Handicap, 1200m, also featured.
