Waubra defeated in three finals

WHILE Springbank celebrated Central Highlands Netball League A and B grade grand finals wins, it was a tough day at the office for Waubra, losing all three of its finals.

In B grade, Springbank had to fight hard to reel in Waubra, who was rampant early on through the hard work of goal shooter Anna Coote, but gradually clawed back the lead to run out just two goal winners, 33 to 31.

Best on court for the Tigers was centre Thea Hinchliffe.

Veteran Barb O’Dwyer led the way for Bungaree in the C grade grand final, winning MVP for her stellar goal attack performance in the Demons’ 34-28 win over Waubra.

Bungaree also had an easy victory in the 17 and under final, thrashing Waubra 43 to 19 with Demons goal shooter Olivia Browning dominant under the ring to win the best player award.

The tightest game of the day was in the 15 and unders, with Bungaree taking the match by one goal over Springbank, 31-30. The Demons’ Brianna Jones was named MVP.
