IN a season where Buninyong proved to be the dominant team in the Central Highlands Football League reserves competition, it finished off in the best way possible.
The Bombers brushed aside Waubra by 45 points in an emphatic grand final win at Eureka Stadium on Saturday.
It was a powerful performance by Buninyong. The remarkably well-drilled Bombers were too good in all facets of the game and Waubra simply had no answers for their dominance.
The umpires' best on ground award was given to Buninyong midfielder Josh Renga, whose ability to get to contests and drive the ball forward proved crucial.
Bombers' joint coach Ray McCormack said he couldn't be more proud of his side.
"They play as a team. It's not about individuals and that showed today," he said. "They'll only get better, these blokes. They'll do it again."
Buninyong overwhelmed Waubra in the first quarter, kicking four goals to none. The Roos steadied in the second and third terms, but were simply unable to close the gap before the Bombers powered home late.
Buninyong forward Tom Nankivell, a late inclusion after being omitted from the senior line-up, was superb for the Bombers while Waubra's Duncan Brown and Luke Bourke performed admirably in a tough outing.
