FAMILY and friends came together in the early hours of Saturday morning to commemorate members of the Ballarat community who have taken their own lives.
More than 100 people joined the annual Out of the Shadows Suicide Awareness Walk at Lake Wendouree, at 5.30am for the 2km circuit.
Organised by the Ballarat and District Suicide Prevention Network, the event included four reflection points where family and friends read poetry and remembered individuals who have completed suicide.
Each day six Australians complete suicide.
