DAVID McPhee has had enough of undrivable roads.
The Creswick resident has long been pushing Hepburn Shire Council to repair Anne Street in Creswick which was damaged after it was flooded years ago.
Mr McPhee, along with residents of the road, has often taken it upon himself to fill the potholes.
However, without proper materials, their efforts to maintain the road are rendered virtually useless.
“I’ve been fighting for it for years and nothing seems to get done,” said Mr McPhee.
The dirt road only has five properties on it, but Mr McPhee said there were nearby roads with even less properties that were repaired.
He said the damaged road was made even more annoying by the fact rubbish collectors wouldn’t drive down it to collect bins.
“There are other roads with even less houses on it so I don’t know why they won’t fix this one,” he said.
“I don’t know what the standard is, they leave out this road but not others.
“The water runs down the middle of the road and just pools up. We try and fill the holes with soil and grass clippings but obviously it doesn’t work.
“I’m not asking for a bitumen road or anything, just a road that is safe to drive down.”
Mr McPhee said he would continue to push for the road to be fixed to make it driveable.
“The postman complains and the fact we have to walk our bins down to the end of the road makes it extremely frustrating,” he said.
