And while the 34-year-old won’t be plying his trade in the singlet and shorts, he has been lured to oversee the development and execution of coaching and elite player development in Ballarat and the greater western region.
The key objectives of the newly-created position are to deliver athlete and coaching services to ensure continuous development and to provide an integrated link to all Basketball Victoria Country, Basketball Victoria and regional basketball programs.
Cooper-Brown, who has playing experience in US college basketball and a long history with the Sandringham Sabres, says his position as Manager – Athlete and Coach Development is an exciting one.
"I'd love to see as many Ballarat coaches representing Vic Country and then hopefully Australia as well – as much as our players," he said.
"I knew that I was going to get kids that are going to work hard and that's always a positive.”
