The centre will again have about 300 youngsters ranging from five to 15 years on its books.
Centre president Shane Bicknell said as always there would be an emphasis on fun and fitness.
He said the bottom age group would have 20 to 25 athletes taking part in the “On Track” program – a skills program that aimed to develop running, jumping, hopping and throwing in a non-competitive environment.
Bicknell said in keeping with the fun theme, the second week would be Jetstar carnival round with all competitors dressing in orange.
A highlight of the season will be the regional championships again being contested in Ballarat in February.
Saturday’s program begins at 8.40am: high jump, long jump, triple jump, discus, shot put, javelin, turbo javelin, 80m hurdle, 90m hurdle, 100m hurdle, 50m, 100m 300m, 800m.
