BCA chairman Rob Florence said the proposal was under investigation.
He said at the BCA’s season launch that while there would not necessarily be any inductions this season, he invited clubs to consider making nominations once the criteria for membership was finalised.
Florence also announced that the Bernie Davey Medal would be presented to the seconds best and fairest player this season and in future years.
The medal previously went to the BCA district division one best and fairest, based on votes given by umpires.
The newly structured BCA no longer has a district division, with all clubs now playing under the one umbrella.
Florence said the decision to continue the Davey Medal tradition had been made by the board after consultation with the Davey family.
He also stated that the numbers for the proposed senior women’s cricket competition were looking good.
