It’s all part of the Leukaemia Foundation’s U.G.L.Y (understanding generous likeable you) Bartender of the Year campaign to help regional Australians facing blood cancer.
The participating bartenders will host a range of events to raise money for young Australians with leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma and related blood disorders.
“Every day, 34 Australians will be diagnosed with leukaemia, lymphoma or myeloma and in acute cases, treatment begins within 24 hours,” head of fundraising at Leukaemia Foundation, Dave Simms said.
“In these cases, the impact of being diagnosed with blood cancer is greater for people living in regional and rural Australia because it means leaving work, school and family behind to relocate to the city,”
Ballarat’s Samantha Brown, Daniel Folex, Nick Haintz, Maisie Lindsey, Kodah Wozny, Jason Tuotty, Phillip Gemmell as well as Meredith’s Clair Kelly, Daylesford’s Rhys Sizeland and Mary Novack and Gareth Crawford from Bacchus Marsh have already started collecting donations for the cause.
