Ballarat’s Got Talent organiser Garry West said finalists were the closest ever in ability in the event’s six-year history.
Mr West said nearly all the competitors were singers, apart from one band member.
Fifteen competitors are Ballarat locals, with the other 16 coming from Melbourne. The contestants will compete in separate categories.
The oldest competitor is 81-year-old Sid Matthews, who sings and plays harmonica, and the youngest was a nine-year-old opera singer.
Winners will share in $2000, with one person winning a DVD video clip also valued at $2000.
The event will run 1pm-4pm at the Mini Golf Cabaret, Western Highway, Warrenheip. Entry is $10.
