Smith and Fisher will take to the course against much smaller rivals in Run Ballarat’s Kids one-kilometre event. The Ballarat Miners duo are out to make sure youngsters are having fun.
Smith, at 208-centimetres tall, said it was a great way to encouraged children to get involved on the day while promoting a good cause, hospital’s children’s ward.
Fisher, a Ballarat High School student, hoped to set a good example.
“It’s also about having some fun and getting kids active,” Fisher said.
The Miners will sign autographs in team sponsor GMHBA’s festival tent, which will feature a healthy rewards spinning wheel and a poster to share race stories.
