at Napoleons
BALLARAT-Redan captain Bobby Hind is confident the Two Swords' 9-220 is a winning score on the only opening round match on turf.
"We did well.
"It's pleasing to bat all day. We're in a good position.
"Bat all day and make more than 200 (on turf) and you'll win more than you lose," he said.
Hind complimented the wicket, saying it was better than he had expected it to be given it is so early in the season.
He said it was good effort to get the wicket up and ready for the first match.
Ballarat-Redan toiled hard against a seaming ball.
Hind said getting to the afternoon tea break just three wickets down and with Anthony Taylor at the crease had been pivotal in the innings.
Taylor proved to the backbone with 71 runs (seven fours) off 113 balls.
His stay featured an 80-run fourth wicket stand with Jayden Hayes, 32, and also laid the foundation for some late hitting by Simon Allan, 24, to get Ballarat-Redan past 200.

Luke Corden was the star with the ball for Napoleons-Sebastopol with a club career-best 5-62 off 20 overs
