Central Wendouree will remain on top after defeating Smeaton by 20 shots on Monday. Midlands Golf jumps three positions from fifth as a result of a 75-57 victory over Clunes.
Smeaton was joined by Daylesford and City Oval as other first round winners to lose.
Central Wendouree did not get everything its own way despite finishing with a comfortable margin.
Smeaton won a rink, but was never going to seriously challenge the visitors once Julie Nimmo's side went away 33-12. There were was little in the other battles, with Smeaton's Jenny Toose getting a two-shot win and the third rink going Central Wendouree's way by one.
Sebastopol, Webbcona and Anevue each had its first win. Sebastopol had the work the hardest to get home by eight shots against City Oval, which won two of the rinks for the day.What made all the difference was Jenny Harman's 34-14 win.
